Christmas Light DIY

Merry Christmas!  It has been so long since I have posted but I just HAD to share this DIY with you all!

Last year we found these amazing vintage glass lights from our local thrift store that are simply stunning.  When I came across the idea of painting ugly green strings gold I knew I […]

Cushion Re-do

Last week my Mom was out here from Ontario and we tackled decorating my front porch and back deck.  I do like my sectional on the back deck but the cushions were worn and faded.  We tried to dye them twice: once with a navy blue and the second with back dye and neither […]

Faux Taxidermy Re-Vamp

I was in HomeSense a while back and came across this faux “deerhead” wall-art.

I had an old wooden box we happened to find in our garage that used to store old nails etc.  It looked this:

We recently did a gallery wall in the living room and I needed something more boxy then just the […]

Warehouse Cart to Coffee Table

A friend of ours found this old warehouse cart abandoned in a yard while doing a job.  Knowing that we love to transform old vintage pieces he offered it up and we happily accepted.

It has been sitting in our storage for a few months but we tackled it today: sanding and staining.

This was the […]

Greenhouse Reveal – Making a Greenhouse for under a 100.00!

Great news!  I am ready to share our greenhouse reveal.

We were fortunate to have a structure that was standing and able to be converted into a greenhouse.  We challenged ourselves to complete the greenhouse as cost efficiently as possible (we did it under a 100.00!), and with the ability to maximize the greenhouse space […]

Greenhouse Progress

Some progress was made on the Greenhouse.  We cleared it out on the weekend so Chris took out some of the walls and has slowly been working on it throughout the week when time permits.

The walls have been removed:

And it now looks like this:

Hopefully we can finish it up this weekend despite the rain […]

The Greenhouse

We have for the most part picked out our seeds for this upcoming year and are starting to organize and chart so that we can get things into the greenhouse by the end of January.

Wait – what greenhouse you might ask?  Because yes, thats right we don’t currently have a  greenhouse.

But were gonna get (er make) […]

Do you have the ugliest kitchen… DIY ideas on a budget.

Do you have an ugly kitchen, because we sure did at our Moss Street House.

The kitchen boasted orange finger painted swirls for a backsplash, never before washed wooden cabinets, as well as beautiful lino circa 1980.

Though ugly, the layout worked and we wanted to prove that you don’t need a ton of cash to […]

Finding the Right Black

So black paint, much like white, is not easy to pick out.  I had no idea how difficult it would be to find ‘the right black.’  Thankfully, at our little local Home Hardware there is a young lady who clearly has an eye for colour and played a big hand in helping us “find […]

Tree Stump Fairy House

My husband is brilliant!  Or rather, his friend Aaron – who cut our tree down – is brilliant!

Check out this tree stump ‘makeover’:

We plan to add some type of roof and dress it up – but I have to say this was one my most favourite ‘transformations’ on our property so far!

Just goes to […]
