We like to pick up interesting pieces of driftwood or beach finds and bring them home for later use.

This piece was a nice size and one lazy Sunday we were inspired while sprucing up our mudroom.  We had no place to hang our keys and we were constantly losing them.

Nothing in the stores had caught our eye so Chris came up with the idea to put hooks on a piece of driftwood.  Looking in his garage he found some small picture hooks, and spray paint in a pale green/blue.

We painted the hooks then he put them onto the driftwood.  We put a hook on the back and hung it in our mudroom.  Several people have complimented on this over the years.

I rediscovered this piece while packing today and thought it was worth sharing.

We have taken this piece with us for three houses and it is durable, strong and always goes with our style which tends to an easy, beachy aesthetic.
