I am SO thrilled with The Potager, not just for the obvious reasons which is FOOD — but particularly Kerrington’s involvement.  She is gaining so much from our decision to start this Urban Farming adventure!  From responsibility and respect (caring for the plants), to the science of it (plants, animals, and weather all effect a garden), creativity (I love when she has new ideas of what we might grow and how), and of course NUTRITION – she is learning where food comes from and how she can confidently and efficiently grow it herself!

Sometimes she will wander into the garden and look around and ask questions and sometimes she will sit quietly and play.  Her very favourite thing to do is to pick the fruits of our labour!  She LOVES going out into the garden to ‘harvest’ and even though she won’t eat most of it (this kid does not like vegetables though she is slowly coming around!) she loves to get a big basket and fill it up to bring in the house.

Enjoying a bite of our first melon.  It was not quite ripe enough but she really wanted to try it!
